7 DELICIOUS REASONS TO LOVE OUR GLASS WATER BOTTLES (PLUS BEST SMOOTHIE RECIPES)!

If you're a long time Real Active follower, you would have come across our beautiful glass bottles before, but did you know they are not just for water? They're made from high borosilicate glass, so can be used for any hot or cold beverages - tea, fruit infused water, ice teas, supplements, smoothies and even fresh juices!

Here are some of our Ambassadors' favourite ways to use our glass bottles and delicious recipes they love to fill them with.

1. Shalamar’s Banana Goodness Smoothie

Ambassador Shalamar (@shalamarwati) loves a smoothie on-the-run, and our glass bottle is perfect to fill and pop in your handbag. Here’s Shalamar’s favourite smoothie recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1x frozen banana
  • 1x cup of oat milk
  • 3-4 cubes of frozen spinach
  • 2x ice cubes
  • 1x scoop of protein powder (optional)
  • 1x heaped tsp of almond butter
  • 2x heaped dessert spoons of oats
  • 1x heaped tbsp of cacao nibs

Method:

Add all ingredients to the blender and blend until smooth.

 2. Supplement & Vitamin Powders

Ambassador Felysia (@effkaydee) uses her glass bottle every morning to take her collagen and vitamin powders. This idea would also be great for taking your greens powders too! The bottles are ideal as you can just pop on the lid and shake to dissolve your powder.

 3. Fruit Infused Water

We all know that drinking enough water can be difficult and some days we might need a little extra taste motivation to make it easier. Ambassador Lulu (@lulu_in_wonderland) loves adding flavour to her water by infusing fruit. Delicious options include citrus, berries, and cucumber. You can also try adding your favourite herbs for a fresh change. Try preparing it the night before and leaving it in the fridge overnight to infuse for a fuller flavoured water.

TIP - Add the small strainer to the bottle after you add your fruit to prevent the fruit from hitting you in the teeth when you are drinking!

4. Warm Water in the Morning

Drinking some warm water on an empty stomach each morning is said to not only be a great way to start hitting your hydration goals for the day, but by adding your favourite citrus (our go to’s are lemon and lime), it can also aid in digestion. Simply add a squeeze (or slices) of your favourite citrus, then add part hot water and part cold water until it is your ideal temperature. Place the small strainer on top and sip! For an even more relaxing experience, sip your water whilst journaling or doing some morning meditation.

Busy teacher and Ambassador Emma (@_rosiejaydesigns) also loves the convenience of smoothies so she can nourish her body, even when she is short on time. Here is her all time favourite smoothie recipe - easy and so delicious!

Ingredients:

  • 1x tsp of honey
  • 1x banana
  • 30g of protein powder
  • 150mL almond milk
  • Ice

6. Herbal Tea

Love a good herbal tea? So do we! Add your loose leaf tea or tea bag to the infuser, screw on the lid then pop into the bottle. Pour just boiled water through the infuser to fill up your bottle and allow to infuse.

Herbal teas are a great way to reduce your caffeine intake and can have heaps of benefits on your health and mood. Some of our favourite teas are peppermint for a calm tummy, chamomile before bed for more restful sleep or ginger if you are feeling nauseous.

TIP - Don’t forget to pop on one of the Real Active sleeves to keep your tea warmer for longer and protect your hands from the heat.

7. Fresh Juice

At home we (the (@thatmarketingmum family) love making fresh cold pressed juices as a great way to get some extra vitamins when we are time-poor. Our favourite combination lately is beetroot, carrot, orange, celery and apple. I also add ginger to mine (hubby and daughter don’t like it) so I just juice it into my glass at the end. I prefer to balance fruit and veg in the juice so it's not too sweet.
